Nadya López
Hey everyone name is Nadya López, and I’m originally from Miami, Florida. I am a multidisciplinary artist who uses performance as both a creative outlet and a platform to uplift and empower my community. While my identity as an Arab Hispanic Trans Woman has deeply shaped my perspective, it is not the limit of who I am. Too often, artists like me are placed into narrow categories; my mission is to expand those lanes and affirm that girls like me belong fully and unapologetically in the spotlight.
I am currently completing my BFA in Performing Arts at the Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD). During my time there, I’ve had the pleasure of performing in productions such as Pippin, where I was a lead dancer, West Side Story as Anita, and the honor of directing a student-led production of RENT. I am also a proud participant in both the Acting and Musical Theatre Showcases, where I was among the first trans women cast. I often say I may be the first, but I will not be the last.
